The original of the symbol is Thracian golden application for a warrior’s arm with the image of a lion’s head and with typical solar symbols. The application is found in a temple-tomb of Seuthes III in a Golyama Kocmatka mound (Shipka town, Kazanlak area, see set “Lion” solid). If you eliminate the lion in the middle, the meaning become different. Originally, the Seuthopolis symbol (the symbol of Odrissian kingdom) expresses the Mother-Goddess and the female beginning. If the lion is removed, the rest is female and that decoration forms the crown of the God-Sun.
